Singapore based Death Metallers, Truth Be Known has just unleashed
"Just Another Lamb", their long awaited debut. Finally we will know
why it took so long to get this album out..
How did you guys meet?
In the beginning, the guys knew each other from the metal scene in
Singapore and at that time, they were all in other bands, Subash in
Kaliyuga and Sink, Damien in Bhelliom, John, Arul & Gene in Narasimha.
We'd meet up at gigs and ended up drinking most of the time at nearby
coffeeshops. So after a drinking session at Subash's old Pub 228
(RIP), we thought it'll be a good idea to jam together and see what
kind of inspirational money making (read:beer funding) music we could
come up with.
Tell us about your latest album?
into it. So please get a copy so that we can buy more bee...i mean
come out with another follow up album for your listening pleasure.
When putting together Just Another Lamb, what was the band's
ultimate goal for the release? And why the album title?
To get Tiger Beer to notice us and sponsor us for a world wide tourafter all we are also known as "Tiger Beer Kings". Ok jokes aside, we
basically tried out a few songs and thought they sounded good enough
for an album and so we did it. Didn't really have an ultimate goal
persay, but we figure it would be a good thing to have an album out
there seeing as we don't gig as much as we drink. As for the album
title, Lamb is basically a substitute for Sheep, it just sounded
better as Just Another Lamb instead of Just Another Sheep.
How would you classify TBK's sound?
sound of 3 drunks getting into a politcally farcas that incorporates
sexual innuendos and religious references towards the rooster and the
cat.
Tell us a bit bout the recording process? Because it seem like this
album took forever to finish...
financial troubles (read: beer funding). Basically, to achieve the
definitive TBK sound, one has to ingest a precise amout of malted
barley flavoured with hops in liquid form (read: beer), to attain the
13th paradigm of Zen (read: high). Only then were the boys capable of
producing the level of talent required for this glorious album.
Why did you guys choose Blackisle studio?
How is it like working with Joshua?
Blackisle was good at producing the metal sound we required. Joshua's
an old friend of ours, so we had quite a blast working with him. He
even did some vocals for "Just Another Lamb".
Now the album is finally out, Have there been any opportunities for
TBK to play these songs before a live audience yet ?
gigs here and overseas. But, now that the album is out and people have
access to the lyrics, finally understanding what the fuck that fat
indian guy was screaming about while taking his pants off....we
haven't got an offers yet. Hmmmm know of any athiest communities out
that who would like to celebrate atheism?
Note: Truth Be Known next gig is on 2nd Nov Bangkok,Thailand
